Saguaro seeds are tiny and small-lived. Whilst they germinate simply, predation and not enough moisture protect against all but about one% of seeds from profitable germination. Seeds must wait around twelve–fourteen months just before germination; deficiency of h2o through this era considerably lowers seedling survival. The existence of nurse pl
